Thailand will be celebrating the Loy Krathong festival this coming Friday November 19th so Suan Dusit University asked them about it in a poll conducted online last week.

 

The occasion is usually famous for Thais floating away their cares on little boats and apologizing for messing up the waterways, reported Sanook. 

 

This year 88% said they wanted to float Covid away - others cited economic woes, poverty, high prices and political trouble. 

 

60% said they were worried that the festival would mean more clusters of infection.

 

Around 44% said they wouldn't be going out at all. Only a quarter said they definitely would.

 

33% said they would make do with a virtual krathong while others would use natural materials, bread or make their own.

 

Just over 70% of people thought the Covid protocols in place wouldn't stop infections.

 

The poll asked questions of 1,139 people between Saturday and Friday last week reported Manager.

Well it will be interesting to see what happens next wk with new infection numbers. ATK slaes will probably do very well and official numbers will probably not go up or if they do not by much.

Trying to return to a near normal life verses spending the rest of it living in fear....

The only things these polls achieve is to spread more anxiety amongst the masses.

The Thais didn’t appear too be concerned about the music festivals over the last 2 W.E.s in Pattaya according too reports 1000s attended them.
