The Japanese government has allowed Cambodian workers and interns to return to Japan again, but under strict conditions. In its statement issued on Monday, the Ministry of Labour  announced that all interns, students and skilled workers who are eligible to train, study and/or work in Japan must follow a number of procedures.

It said they will need to have a medical certificate attesting to the absence of coronavirus in their body. The certificate must be issued within 72 hours of their flight departure. They must also install the Japanese government’s Covid-19 contact tracing application in their smartphone before arriving in Japan. There is also a unique quarantine contract which must be signed before departure from Cambodia.

Anyone arriving in Japan without this contract will be denied entry to the country, said the Ministry.. Once the contract has been processed by Japanese authorities at the airport, the interns, students or workers will be placed into quarantine, according to the measures conducted by the Japanese government.
