BANGKOK, Nov 18 (TNA) – Thailand is speeding up a study on carbon-related taxation to keep its promise made in the 26th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 26), according to the chief of the Excise Department.

In the “Exponential Path of Net Zero” seminar organized by Bangchak Corporation, Lavaron Sangsnit, director-general of the Excise Department, said the department would restructure taxation to support the policy that the government announced in COP 26 to realize carbon neutrality within 2050 and achieve its net zero emission goal within 2065.

According to the director-general, there can be a carbon tax on the parties that emit more carbon than a set threshold. Singapore and Japan have such taxes.

Wonder if field burning will get a mention in this study

Of all the possible measures to reduce emissions, Carbon Tax is the one that adds least real world value and is most open to corruption and fraud.

So sounds perfect.

During the burning off period, Thai farmers tax will be placed in an envelope and collected by a nameless tax collector.????

In less than a generation, carbon tax will be a personal responsibility/liability.  You'll have a compulsory app on your phone that will calculate your daily personal carbon tax liability and deduct the credits from your bank account.

You won't be able to enter a 7/11 or a gogo bar unless you can show the appropriate QR code.

Why do you think they're faffing around with all this covid passport <deleted>?  It's just a warmup for the Great Greenie Reset agenda.

They might not insist on a barcode tattoo on your wrist just yet, but as they're currently emulating Hitler's forced medical and scientific experiments on human beings I don't see why they shouldn't get around to it eventually.
