ASEAN NOW
Because a cold period is forecast, Prime Minister Hun Sen has encouraged all authorities in Phnom Penh and regions to distribute winter clothing to vulnerable people, particularly the elderly. His call comes as the Water Resources Ministry announced on Tuesday that temperatures in the northeastern highlands and plateaus will drop as low as 15°C by the end of December and into February 2022, while Phnom Penh and other provinces will have temperatures of 18°C. "Please seek for the vulnerable individuals who do not have suitable housing and do not have warm clothing," Mr Hun Sen added. Because the chilly weather is approaching, they should be issued winter clothing."
