Sending money from my Thai account to my European or UK account.

Featured Replies

Are there any difficulties or issues in sending money from Thailand to my UK or European bank accounts?

Is it allowed?

Is there a limit?

Are there any particular restrictions?

Is it sent as Thai baht or is it converted first to Euros or BPS?

Is the 'swift' system used?

And is it probably easier just to use 'Wise'?

Any advice or information gratefully accepted.

I think DeeMoney is the one you need to look at.

For whatever reason, it's plain sailing to send outbound once

you are signed up vs trying with any other route. Am sure expats

can't do outbound with wise..maybe I'm wrong on that or it's only if you have a work permit or something like that.

I transferred money via online banking from and to Europe, no problem.

I am pretty sure there will be some restrictions about the amounts. I called my Thai and European banks and I asked them about the limits. I recommend you do the same.

Any advice or information gratefully accepted.     It's not as hard as you think, go to your bank and find "that" person who can help

It's not something I do often if at all but the last time I sent 400.000 baht via my Bkk bank branch to my sons bank in UK.
