One year extension of non-O based on marriage

Recommended Posts

Just got back from immigration in Phuket.

Have been educated that if I have a work permit on this visa/extension I am required to provide the company paper etc pp. and can't choose any other option to prove my financial status.

I was actually planning of using the 400k method this year.

Until now I thought that I could bring either:

  1. prove of income of +40k per month from overseas or
  2. 400K in Thai bank account or
  3. +40k income from working in Thailand or
  4. a combination of the three above

Anybody know if it was always like this or when did it change?

You can use the income option for your extension based upon mariage using the 400k baht in a Thai bank for 2 months.

It it not mandatory to sue income option if working.

Immigration does not need to know your are working if using the 400k baht in the bank option.

That's what I thought.

But the IO said that the stamp in my password says "Marriage and working".

Therefore I he told my wife I need to bring the company papers.

Every office can come up with some odd requirements and a handwritten note really means nothing.

There is certainly no written rule that says that.

Thank you very much confirming I did not got it wrong.

Try just showing them the company registration and your work permit.

The extension is not tied to you working since it is based upon being married to a Thai.

The only thing mentioned in the immigration order is proof of income by showing tax payments.
