The man who shot and killed a 27 year old Phetchaburi man in a hail of bullets on Monday morning in Kanchanaburi has turned out to be the son of the woman in the pickup.

Sittichai, 29, gave himself up to police yesterday along with a 9mm gun that he used to fire 11 shots that killed Amphol.

Sittichai was named in a warrant for premeditated murder issued later on Monday.

Sittichai was furious that his mother was carrying on with Amphol and knew they were to get Covid-19 vaccinations at a hospital and waited for them to arrive.

He told investigators that when his mother saw him at the hospital she revved the vehicle and fled.

He caught up with the couple at an intersection after parking his bike in front of the pickup.

An argument with his mother, the driver, ensued and then Amphol ran off and was chased by Sitthichai on his bike to the Wang Saraphee Plaza car park in Pak Phraek sub-district of Muang district, Kanchanaburi, where the shooting occurred.

The victim was hit 9 times according to a report yesterday.

Police led by provincial chief Pol Lt-Gen Thanayut Wutthijarasthamrong had a ten minute interrogation yesterday with the suspect who admitted everything before they displayed the evidence fo the press outside provincial HQ, reported Daily News.

The police decided to forego a reenactment after contact from relatives; the CCTV at the scene was more than enough to confirm the suspect's guilt.

It emerged that the mother - named earlier as Rojana - had been missing from home for days.
