Daily News reported that officers from the Economic Crime Division carried out a raid on a warehouse in the Bang na area of Bangkok after many complaints from the public about sub-standard and low quality goods sold online.

Most of the goods came from abroad.

At the depot on Bang Na - Trat 19 officers found thousands of batteries, shoes, bags and clothes that had not had tax paid and were of poor quality.

They arrested the manager called Sureeporn, aged 29.

The police said that buying online was easy and convenient but you had to be careful that you got decent goods.

The best way to do that was to read online reviews to ensure the credibility and legality of the seller.

Yeah, that'll do it.

Sellers on Lazada would never post their own reviews, would they?  ????

This wouldn't work if not millions of people would buy cheap, cheap and cheap.

It's impossible to get decent quality cheap. That shouldn't be too difficult to understand.

"abroad" probably one country - the one you can't say anything about.

That's not totally true, wife is bargain shopper . Goes to many malls but waits till the article she wants is marked down to 50 or 70 %  off the original price. Same product/brand but marked down. Same quality but now cheap.

I always wondered if that LV handbag or Gucci shoe the obligatory Ladyboy swings at the head of the Indian dudes in the robbery attempts (and successes) in Pattaya Soi 13/2 are fake or not.

Nuh, I don't really.

Sure, some things like fashion, which had a 300% markup to start with, is cheaper after a while.

Or products which are "the old model" if there is already something new.

But mostly good things can't be sold with 50% discount...

This happens if the bown envelops are not big enough ????

How did they get across the border?  That could be drugs.

Any facemasks?

Imported but no duty paid ?

Does that bother to ring alarm bells with the Commissioner of Customs

Well I know that 1000 baht will not get you a real Rollix, watch, note the spelling.

Thailand, LOS,  S is for sucker.  Okay that was a bit cruel.  I still like roti,

and some other good Thai food. Singha beer is okay, and a meal at

Pat's Place,  soi 94 in Hua Hin is something I miss as well.

anything that is not sub-standard in this country ?

even cops feel at home in this warehouse...
