21 public holidays for 2022

Cambodia will have a total of 21 public holidays in 2022, according to a sub-decree issued recently by the Royal Government. Signed by Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, the sub-decree indicates similar number of public holidays to this year, 2021. Cambodia is now the fourth Southeast Asian country with the highest number of public holidays after Malaysia, Thailand, and Myanmar.

 

Among the holidays obtained are:

January 1, Global Day,1 day off

January 7, Victory Day over the genocidal regime, 1 day off

March 8, International Women’s Day, 1 day off

April 14-15-16, Khmer New Year, 3 days off

 

May 01, International Labor Day, 1 day off

May 14, The Royal Birthday of His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni, King of the Kingdom of Cambodia, 1 day off

May 15, Vesak Bochea Festival, 1 day off

May 19, Royal Plowing Ceremony, 1 day off

June 18, the Royal Birthday of Her Majesty Queen Norodom Monineath Sihanouk, the Queen Mother of Cambodia, 1 day off
