The poor people never had any marbles..Then a few marbles were suddenly presented to them..and it was a revelation -- 'look! they gave us marbles! They've NEVER given us MARBLES before!'

So they all played marbles. They started to learn how the marbles 'looked and felt' - they could go to hopsital for free, send their kids to school - even university!!! Then someone said 'they guy who gave you the marbles was a bad guy'. The poor people said 'yes, we know that. But, ya know, he gave us MARBLES!'

'Marbles aren't for you. And the marbles he gave you probably were 'false' marbles' said the all-knowing hi-so. 'Now, give me back those marbles. And don't worry we've gotten rid of that bad guy who gave you these silly things', said the hi-so.

'We'll look after the marbles from now on..', he said as he drove away in his Benz. 'But don't worry, we'll be back with some presents for you - as long as you're good this time.'

And they all went to bed...on the floor as ever before. Except for the hi-so's fat little son - he now had some more marbles to play with. His Dad said 'here you go my son - more marbles'! Thanks Dad - said little tubby. 'Where did you get these?' asked the boy. 'They were always mine', said the father. 'I just misplaced them'.

In the West we say - 'Who's your daddy?" We all know.

Referendum

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

referendum (plural: 'referendums' or 'referenda') or plebiscite (from Latin plebiscita, originally a decree of the Concilium Plebis) is a direct vote in which an entire electorate is asked to either accept or reject a particular proposal. This may be the adoption of a new constitution, a constitutional amendment, a law, the recall of an elected official or simply a specific government policy. The referendum or plebiscite is a form of direct democracy.

would it be too much to ask to expect the EC to know the word ?? :o

EC Secretary-General says youths will be important force to promote democracy

The Deputy Secretary-General of the Election Commission (EC) of Thailand, Mr. Puchong Nutrawong, says youths in education institutes are an important mechanism for promoting democracy, and they can help inspect the election processes.

At Parkview Hotel in Muang district of Yala province (Jul 5), Mr. Puchong chaired the training seminar to educate the local students about the election and the constitution referendum. This seminar will enable youths to be more active in helping the EC in publicizing the election-related information to every area in the province. The seminar also educated youths about the administration under the democratic framework as the local administrative organizations will end their terms this August. Thus, the students can help encourage people to exercise their voting rights, and they can also educate people about the illegal activities during the election.

Mr. Puchong says the EC has now upgraded its election processes by using electronic devices instead of counting ballot cards. He says this technology will facilitate the voters, and the students will provide the knowledge on this development to the local people.
