It is hard to imagine anyone coming to Thailand for holiday these days with all the difficult paperwork, tests, and insurance. Then they they stand a very good chance of spending 2 weeks in captivity for a false positive or Covid with no symptoms, paying for the privilege of jail as well as losing the money they spent on their hotel. Too big a risk

Have to agree, though I just hosted two visitors, both without a jab, that came, did their ten days qtine, then had the run of the country - and are still running at this moment lol. Not for everyone, ten days of twenty is a no go, but if three months + then maybe, if no jab and wanting a break from all the madness.

Jabbed friends have arrived as well, and seem to have a similar experience, but only having to qtine for one day, I believe. (before the latest rule changes).

As for not popular anymore - great!

In the old days . . .  and I'm only talking about a couple of years ago really, pre covid, it was a real ball ache for me to make my way to Thailand and - good gawd - look at it now.  It would take me some 30 hours to get to BKK including the layovers.  From confederate America to Dallas to Incheon (or Tokyo) and then on to BKK.  I would spend a night there and then I still had a 3 hour bus trip to my final.  Not to mention it was visa exempt.  I ended up living in the Land of Smiles for 15 years.  Fluent in Thai and Issan and more friends there now than back in the States.

I would not even begin to know how to go about getting all the stuff that is required to enter now and certainly would have no desire to wear a mask and do all the testing and lord know what else and what can go wrong.  I hate it but another trip to Thailand looks to be a long way away.

Same for me. Booking into the much-filmed Hotel Miami on Soi 13 at midnight after a miserable flight and getting a plate of pad thai from the famous vendor on Soi 11 (with a cut through the Ambassador Hotel lobby) amid the buzz of a joyous and jumbled crowd is a pleasure I long for but might never have again.

Excuse me while I go and cry about Cheap Charlies. In the bathroom they warned, "No rhymes with hitting, just rhymes with hissing".

Bora  Bora as a single male would find you alone at a pricey hotel bar at 7 PM while everyone else is boinking back in their suites.
