Mountain Man
I was caught outside Thailand in 2020, and had to wait until Feb 2021 to come back in. When I got my new visa, I had to buy Special Covid insurance. I had to go out again last month (December 2021) for a couple of weeks. I have since renewed my regular health insurance, but I have heard that O-A visa holders don't have to renew Covid insurance. Is this true? howerde
You will need covid insurance if entering Thailand from abroad.
ubonjoe
Covid 19 insurance is not required to apply for a extension of stay (it is not a visa) at immigration. It is only required for a entry to the country.
Sheryl
From his post it sounds lijke he has left Thailand and needs to reenter. For that you need to show proof of at least US$50k in insurance that includes COVID. And you will have to obtain a "Thailand Pass" and quarantine on arrival unless you enter via one of the "Sandbox" schemes.
