import duties for Toys ? Wilesco Steam Roller D365

Featured Replies

want to buy my boys a real mini steam roller - wondering if anyone knows the import duties ? from Germany

Thanks

Steam Roller

Brilliant i had Mamod version when was a kid

there is a list of tariff on customs website but they include shipping and vat on everything

It should be imported under toys but if theres  a section they can with a higher  tariff  you can bet they will try

hmm seems 35% my radio control yatchts were 22%

"Toy" should get you 20% on CIF + 7% VAT

"Model" is 30% ????

its not good to import expensive toys or models into here luckily all have been accepted as toys despite costs

Thats the fleet below  Mrs Poohy demands that  there is no more (or if there is one must also be sold)

Nice "toys"!

Just buy her more gold, she'll be right :whistling:

Put a few #2 pencils in the box, and declare as 'school supplies' ... ????

The second issue you may have is that if you import a child's toy then Thai customs may require a Thai TIS number to allow the shipment to be released. To get a TIS number you have to submit a representative set of samples to an accredited Thai laboratory for inspection and testing. You have to pay for this, and also for the application and certification.

Considering the item involves the use of a naked flame, combustible material, a pressure vessel holding steam at 1.5 bar, unguarded hot metal parts, unguarded moving metal parts, the emission of steam vapour and handling hydrocarbon contaminated water then testing is going to be expensive and may well be destructive.

If what you are importing is a model not intended for the use of a child then you will not need a TIS number.

Perhaps you could chat with the seller and put "Toy" on invoice instead of "Model".

Buy a Stirling toy on Lazada.

Less money, less trouble, same fun for the kid with same danger to burn down your house. Screenshot_20220211_095049_com.lazada.android.thumb.jpg.f61c6ad8ad2d062ed6bbf0e03e367552.jpg

Just promise her a bigger house.  ????

I got a similar problem with gym equipment, im not allowed any more.

How old is the youngin ?

The steam thing is pretty cool ... BUT ... this isn't the 18th century.  Maybe steer him toward something, electronical he can apply, and build on, such as Arduino, or maybe RC cars, boats, drones.

As a 60+ yr old kid, building my own drones was quite fun & interesting.  Modifying, swapping out, upgrading components.  Actually wished I knew the arduino thingy.  He can build off those, maybe the next Musk in the making, or steer him toward computer science.

I like this, no battery driven wheels from what I can see, unlike the OP what a shame to call it a steam roller when it really is not.

Its kind of the point. they have a sh.. load of toys with batteries. This is the only one on steam. They went on a steam train in Australia and since then are crazy about anything with steam

reading the above -  I guess I will wait until travel to Europe and bring one back.

I had something similar as a kid - was a fan toy  - also on methylated spirits
