Marvo
Can anyone please advise if it's possible to renew an annual extension of stay based on marriage while outside of Thailand? (Needed, to keep the work permit active). If possible, I don't want to travel to Thailand with the complications of all this Covid/Quarantine business, just to renew the visa (extension). The Thai wife is in Thailand at the moment. Thanks in advance.
problemfarang
Sorry, no Extensions can be done only IN the kingdom
DrJack54
Cannot. No big deal. Start over when you enter next time. No way would anyone return just to obtain extension. Edited February 10, 2022 by DrJack54

If one is game enough, could they not securely post (or give to a visiting friend/family member) their passport to their reliable Thai-based visa agent maybe ???? ? Would never do it (!), but just challenging the “cannot” advice. Edited February 11, 2022 by Nemises

LoudHailer
Ensure that you re-enter the kingdom with 'Visa upon Entry' if eligible or a Tourist Visa. Anything else is problematic.

Anything else is problematic. What is a "visa on entry"? There are 30 day visa exempt entries and a 15 day visa on arrival for those from 18 countries. Marvo
I still have 15 months left on my work permit. Would prefer to not lose that and have to start that from scratch also. Does expiry of my current extension of stay invalidate my work permit?
