Song Phee Nong police in Suphanburi in central Thailand along with rescue services went to an accident on the Bang Lee to Wat Phai Rong Wua road where a silver/gold Isuzu had collided head on with a black Nissan.

Both vehicles had severe damage to their front sections.

Thitiporn, 25, from Ratchaburi, the driver of the Isuzu, was in a serious condition and taken to hospital.

The driver of the Nissan, Rittidech, from Bangkok, also 25, was thrown out of his vehicle.

He was given CPR at the scene and taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police said that the deceased worked at an auto spares shop in Pathum Thani and was on his way back after buying parts in Suphanburi.

Police are studying CCTV and interviewing the lady driver to try and work out what happened, reported Thai Rath yesterday.

I'll assume that the guy thrown from his vehicle wasn't wearing a seatbelt. I can't understand why people should find wearing a seatbelt to be onerous or uncomfortable in modern vehicles. The old seatbelts without the retraction and tension control from the 60's or early 70's were a pain in the backside and not that comfortable but these days they are a pretty reasonable safety accessory.

Looks like a one way rd .... So let's hope the person going the correct way dint die..

Looks like a two-way road with yellow lines down the centre which should not be crossed...

problem is yellow lines mean diddly squat.

Those were my thoughts also - the person in the wrong is the one who dies not the person who was following the rules of the road…

with head ons, there is a person at fault….the interview should only add to the facts…the evidence (point of impact) on the road should tell you exactly what happened…

Glad I minimize the amount of time I am on Thai roads…

What is it that makes a four-lane road, separated by yellow lines in the centre "look like a one-way road" to you?

I hope he/she doesn't drive if that's what they think it is ????
