Want To Rent And Old Car Or Truck 6-10 Months Or More

Recommended Posts

DO you have a car or truck that doesn't get much use what you want to turn into an earner?

I am looking to rent an old but usable set of wheels. Pick up or car. age and condition not important. Something that works and has air con though ideally. I can collect from pretty much anywhere. I would like to agree a monthly rate (with deposit if required) and will take good care of whatever motor comes my way.

So if you have, or know someone who has a car sitting around doing nothing. Point them in my direction please. I've been here a year full time now and am looking forward to my second year. I car or truck would make the odd rainy day or trip to the shops a little easier though. Won't bew putting huge mileages on for you, so don't worry.

Thanks for looking!

I noticed on the farangconnection website that they have a cheap car for sale. You could buy it then resell it. But is it still for sale?

Sorry just gone..............................where you are would be very helpful as well. Isaan is a huge chunk of Thailand. We do have a pick-up for rent, but what do you call old, and what sort of price do you want to pay?

Hello everyone,

I also would like to find an old pick-up for sale or maybe rent in the Udon Thani area.

I would like to buy one for under 100k baht.

Will the used car dealers extend credit if I put down 50% of the purchase price?

Does anyone know how a farang can finance an old car or truck?

Best regards

As far as I know, best way to finance a car out here or anywhere for that matter is to hand over a fist full of the folding stuff.

I heard of a teacher getting a loan for a car like an HP agreement. He has a work permit and the car wound up being in his girlfriends name. But I guess that means it is possible to talk to the banks about it? How much thai can you read and understand before you sign though? good luck!

FYI, I found an old classic car I liked and bought it so no longer looking to rent.

Thanks!

Very weird post to me, I have bourght more than 10 cars using finance companies, and I never had any problems, what so ever, the cars were put in our company name, when the car is paid of, the finance company transfere the registration to my company ( we pay of-cause) and that is it, no big fuzz, so I dont understand the sarcasm in your reply.

Tilapia,

I am not sure who you are referring to as having sarcasm in their post. Personally I just don't see that here in this post.

Thanks for sharing your ideas about "how to buy a car in Thailand." The problem is I no longer work. I gave that stuff up 6 years ago, besides I am not allowed to work on a retirement visa.

I do not have a company in Thailand.

Yes, I can finance a car/truck in a Thais name but I lost a car that way 5 years ago. I won't make that mistake again.

I won't have access to my investment (in my country) for another 3 years so basically I am living on my monthy pension here in Thailand.

My question is are there car dealers in the Issan area that would consider financing a farang with about 50% down payment on the second had car/truck.

Best regards,

Best regards,

J-A-G,

If you can achive a Non O Visa 1 year satsis, you can own the vehicle in your own name, Thai licence available also.

Financing a second hand car is the hard road at the end of the day in my opinion. (Look at new first try Toyota)

But if you can strike up a cash deal (easy in Isaan) paying the balance out over three to six month period works.

Basic contract between two people, you hold the green book use the car, pay off the balance and change green book into your name etc.

Good luck

Best regards,

I was refering to the post above mine, not yours.

You dont need a workpermit to setup a company, but I admit that there is a lot of paper-work to do.

There will always be a risk, using a Thai person as "owner" for the car, second-hand dealer might do it with a farang if they can finance it themself, but I'm sure that the interest will be higher. If you are buying a car to under 100k, then be prepared to spend the same amount in repair, they are normaly in a very poor condition. Or you can make a long-time rent deal, and maybe get a pick-up truck between 10.000-15.000 per month, but be carefull about the insurance.

If you want, then I might be able to help you out, you can send me a PM.

Not Weird Tilapia,

Your just not looking at it through his situation. 'we pay of-cause, no big fuzz", ' I don't understand the sarcasm' HA HA.

10 cars, company name, sure we understand now how easy it is for you and bow down at your feet.

But don't forget having company names also pose a imminent danger especially the guys that create dog-gie one, and don't follow the correct format.

It looks to me, that you say that I'm a criminal, and what I do here is close to being iligal, I would advise you to do just a little research before you state that I'm doing a "dog-gie one". I have been here for 12 years paid my tax and what else there is required to be paid, If you mean that I'm doing dog-gie business, then I would gladly give you the company name and you can start an investigation, and see if you can score some brownie-points with some goverment-official.

C-Sip,

Thanks. That is what I have heard before---that dealing with Issan car dealers is a little easier than in Bkk or Pattaya.

I have a non O Visa since it is required for the retirement Visa. I rented cars and trucks for the first few years I lived here. Now that I am certain I will stay here forever, I want to buy.

I have purchased 2 motorbikes before and own one now, but I don't wish to die in a crash. I would prefer a peaceful death.

I am sure everyone understands what I am trying to say.

Thanks again C- Sip and you too Talapia.

Best regards.......

edit: I had a senior moment.

I thought 12 years of business in TITS would have hardened you up.

Don’t get me wrong I’m not saying or meaning your business nor did I bring the words criminal or illegal into the ball park.

Start an investigation and receive brownie-points, mate you have a hel_l of a sense of humor there.

It just make me laugh went somebody ask a simple question on how to finance a vehicle and a guy strut’s (meaning you) into the park saying how easy it is, ‘no fuss’ fully knowing that he has a legal company business name as back up.

Morel of the story, not everybody has a company in the (LOS) pat yourself on your back you’ve earned it.

Good luck pop a cold one.

Sorry mate, I'm not in the "tits" business, and to be honnest I despite the people who are making money on the girls, they are nothing but a simple "pimp", in my wiew.

Your post did touch the subject of dog-gie business, and you can rest assure that mine is not that, I will pop a cold one and chill down. Many people ask many questions here, some more relevant than others, and the owner-ship on cars and motor-bikes have been brought up several times, what is there to do if you cant buy it cash or dont have the right visa ?? then take a chance or protect yourself in the best way.

There are some used car dealers who offer financing. You have to look around to find one. You will need at least 50 percent down and must have first class insurance. The interest rate will be VERY high. At least one and a half percent per month.
