richard_smith237
Grizzly scenes indeed… But, hitting a stationary vehicle parked on the side of the rd…. It is these incidents brought about by an utter lack of attention combined with a total absence of understanding of consequences which make the road stats look so appalling for us motorcyclists… The vast majority of incidents which contribute to the high road fatality and accident stats are incidents we’d avoid by simply paying attending & using sense (i.e. not riding at night, or while drunk, not speeding, not running lights, wearing helmets, not using our phone… & paying attention to our surroundings).

I think that it was in the middle, not at the side.

Indeed, i missed the part where it mentioned ‘parked by the central devise’… Still, hitting a stationary vehicle… More easily done if not paying attention because it’s so unexpected. It may have just happened, the rider of the sidecar was still with the vehicle (before he fled after the incident). It could have been a broken down car, lorry etc…. The motorcyclist plowed into a stationary vehicle…. ….. how ?… he’s been at a funeral & had very likely been drinking.
