Maybole
One of my banana trees has fallen over and died. Unfortunately, it had a large number of almost fully formed fruit on it. Sister-in law reckon they were about three weeks from ripening. Sensible suggestions please on cooking or doing something useful with them. I am loath to waste them. Moderators, if you find a cooking forum or more appropriate one please move.
Golden Triangle
How long ago did it fall over ?? Maybe leave the bananas attached, the tree won't die immediately, so that would give them a chance to mature a bit more, we've had green bananas and left them for a few days to ripen.
bbOh
You can cut off the peel and use them in a curry. Two days ago, but it was causing an obstruction and has already been cut up and cleared, although I took care to keep the fruit.
Golden Triangle
All I can suggest is to keep the fruit, leave in the sun for a few days & see what happens, if they don't start to ripen chuck em ????
bbko
If the bunch is still attached, prop them up as close to the bunch as you can, then cut when close to maturity. If they've already been cut off the tree, hang the rack and see how they turn out after 7-10 days. Ideally they should be propped up with sticks/pvc when they start to bear fruit. EricTh
One trick is to put the bananas together with some apples in an enclosed paper bag (not plastic bag), it will ripe faster. But you have to buy a lot of apples which will defeat the purpose Edited February 24, 2022 by EricTh
Robin
Put them in the dark and leave them to ripen. Wife cuts the hands of bananas from the tree and cuts that up into bunches she can sell, then puts them in a klong jar with a sack covering the mouth and leaves them to ripen. Most commercial bananas are cut down green and left to ripen in the dark in transit. Leave bananas on the tree to ripen and the birds will get at them
CharlieH
Take them indoors and they may ripen in a few days. We buy veyr green Bananas all the time and they are fully ripe in 2-3 days.
scubascuba3
Once ripe you can individually wrap bananas in the fridge so they last longer or what I now do is peel and freeze, good for ice cream alternative or put in a blender for milkshakes or smoothies

We have been given green bananas as it has been said give them a few days and they will ripen ,it will also depend on the variety on how long they will ripen.
