Crime British Woman Sentenced in Germany Over Thai Drug Smuggling Case
Picture courtesy of BBC. A 24-year-old British woman has been handed a two-year suspended sentence by a Munich court for trafficking drugs from Thailand. Cameron Bradford, from Stevenage, Hertfordshire, was arrested at Munich airport on 22 April while travelling from Bangkok to the UK. German customs officials discovered approximately 20 kilograms of marijuana hidden in her suitcase during a transit check. In court, Bradford revealed she had worked as an escort for a man in the UK, Joseph Coleman, who threatened her and ordered her to travel to Thailand to collect an item on his behalf, after she had been robbed by a client. She described a distressing ordeal in which Coleman and two accomplices tied her to a chair, searched her home, and took £8,600 from her. Bradford explained that Coleman, who usually took 60% of her earnings, accused her of setting up the robbery by one of her clients, started shouting at her and declaring she would no longer work for him. Fearing for her safety, she attempted to escape with her young son but was apprehended. Coleman allegedly told her the only way to resolve the situation was to go to Thailand. She flew from the UK to Phuket on 11 April and then travelled to Bangkok, following instructions from Coleman. There, she was handed a locked suitcase in exchange for her own bag of clothes. Unaware of its contents, she claimed she did not know the suitcase contained drugs. Judge Wilfried Dudek acknowledged Bradford’s troubled past, including an early pregnancy and associating with the wrong crowd. Although the judge found it unusual that Bradford had no suspicion about the suitcase’s contents, he accepted that she had acted under pressure. Bradford expressed remorse, telling the court she had “never been so sorry in my life” and wished only to return to her parents and seven-year-old son to live a normal life. The suspended sentence allows Bradford to avoid immediate imprisonment, but she remains under legal supervision. The case highlights the vulnerabilities faced by those coerced into criminal activities. Retirement Visa early renewal . (Pattaya Immigration)
I guess you could use 400,000 of it for immediate needs and get it replaced quickly, provided you are in the 7 month window! Silly isn't it, having to show you have money for immediate needs and living costs, but pretty much not allowed to touch it! -
