transfer green book with only power of attorney - not original owner

Recommended Posts

I'm about to buy a bike in Chiang mai

It was registered to the ex- girlfriend of the guy in buying it from

He has green book and passport copy & a power of attorney to sell the bike.

What obstacles or issues should I be aware of to ease the green book over to me.

Passport name matches the last registered owner.

What is a normal transfer fee? And is there any extra "fees" associated with the registered owner not present and only a copy of the passport?

Appreciate a swift response as I'm due to meet and transfer this afternoon.

Thx

all go to the road tax office, test the bike do the name change,  pay the money drive it home, if any problems don't pay the money walk home.

The ex girlfriend is no longer in the country. That's the main hurdle.

But yes anything that's prevents my legal ownership,  Is a deal breaker.

As above, do the deal at the transport office and get the bike transferred over to you then and there. If no probs, you drive away. If probs, you walk away. Simples. ????

I would say as long as the seller has all the required paperwork from the ex-girlfriend a copy of her ID card and copy of the house address the bike is registered then go to a DLT office and get sorted no where else, at the office you will soon know if it is possible for you to buy the bike.
