At around 10pm on Tuesday night a 31 year old Thai man came to the Soi 9 police station accompanied by his 13 year old niece and her 13 year old friend to make a report regarding an alleged rape which had taken place on the 13th of April this year in the Bali-Hai port area.

The friend of the man’s niece said she had arranged to meet her boyfriend and four of his friends at the Bali Hai port and brought the alleged victim along for company. She claimed she had gone out to buy some food with her boyfriend and when they returned the four Thai youths and the victim had disappeared.

The niece later claimed she had been forced to perform sexual acts against her will by the boys but had the kept the incident secret from her uncle because she was scared. Her uncle noticed his niece had been very quiet and withdrawn since April and had finally managed to get her to tell him what had taken place.

Police are investigating the allegations and are suspicious of the girl’s friend who knew the alleged rapists and may have arranged to bring the victim along for the express purpose of offering her up to her boyfriend’s friends.

:o sounds a bit fishy. If it is true then the young woman in question needs to have a pregnancy and STD test ASAP. the friend's boyfriend must be compelled to give names of his friends. Unfortunately there will be NO retrievable evidence after such a long time. She shouldn't keep her fingers crossed for a prosecution I don't think. Poor girl.

These stories are heard all the time. So much for Buddhism and Thai Culture - it is festering at the younger levels. The ones not caught will continue their assault against women who seem to hold a second-class status in this society.

Man Good.

Woman expendable.

Disgusting - and yet they go to temple to make merit to cleanse their sins.
