I'm heading to Pattaya for 2 days and I'm taking my (big) dog with me. Do you know about some place, where could we stay?

I found websites offering pet friendly accommodation very unreliable. And never had any luck. My current plan is to just drive there, look for some a bungalows and ask them, if they let me stay. If no, offer them let the dog sleep in the car in front of bungalow. Any better ideas?

A very bad and inhumane idea.  There are many websites that show pet friendly accommodation, Booking .com is one.  AirBnB another, you don't seem to have done much research online, or would would see many alternatives available everywhere in Thailand. Just google 'pet friendly accommodation'.  We have two dogs and we have never had any problem finding such accommodation.

Leaving dogs in cars in the tropics, even at night, what are you thinking?

If you leave the dog in the car between midnight and 8 am with all windows half way down I don't see any problem.

Problem with Booking etc is that no matter what they say (small dogs allowed, any dogs allowed) if you call, they always tell me 10 Kg max.

Well I can't help you then. I suspect that no-one can.  A car is a very effective heat sink without adequate ventilation for people or animals. Almost regardless of the outside temperature, bar very cold, cars can retain and even generate  a local heat environment. Humans can at least get out of it, dogs can't. I suggest that you read this.

Other than perhaps a couple of dead Pattaya old boys who tried to walk past after  several large Changs in the wee hours!
