glegolo18
Anybody with experience from Buriram, what regards to make a conversion from arriving on a tourist-VISA exempt, and apply at Buriram Immigration for a non Imm O, and then Extension of stay based on marriage... Are they positive and helpful. Have heard from other Immigration-officies that they even can refuse to help out... Anybody?? glegolo

DrJack54
OP, might find some relevant info in attached thread. Also visa exempt entry is cutting it fine for your non O marriage. Be aware that you can obtain 60 day extension to visit wife or 30 extension to your visa exempt entry. Only if you need time to organize.

SDo just to clarify so that I understand.... a - Time will NOT be an issue for 30 day exempt, no problem to organize docs to apply for conversion for me!! Is it doable in Buriram, are they positive there??? b - If I take your advise and first go from exempt and then apply for visit wife 60 days, can I apply directly for extension based on marriage 1 year after that??? Thanks for your input!!! glegolo 32 minutes ago, DrJack54 said:

I didn't advise to do that, it was more to buy time if needed. You need to apply for the non O marriage with at least 15 days remaining on your visa exempt permit. Obviously you have a Thai bank account and can show balance of 400k on day of application for the non O. You can apply for the extension in the last 30 days of your permit from the non O. Non O gives a 90 day stay. Edited March 23, 2022 by DrJack54
