City Slickers's one thing..

Curly: Do you know what the secret of life is? Curly: This. [holds up one finger]

Mitch: Your finger?

Curly: One thing. Just one thing. You stick to that and the rest don't mean shit.

Mitch: But what is the "one thing?"

Curly: [smiles] That's what you have to find out.

So much advice over the years.

Walk softly and carry a big stick.

Do unto others, before they do unto you.

If you fail to plan, then plan on failing.

Don't sweat the small stuff (followed by "It's all small stuff")

Exactly, what is the best piece of advice you've received in your life?

One of best words of advice I've received is to be an expert in something to differentiate myself from others.

How about you?

:o

1. Never chase after a bus or a woman. If you wait around long enough another one will come along eventually.

2. Don't pay attention to what others say about you. They can't s**t for you and they won't take the blows aimed for you.

3. In the long run there is no long run. Eventually you will die, so don't worry about it. Just take care of today and let tomorrow take care of itself.

:D

"Whatever it is you want, you'll have to work for it, yourself."

This not only means work hard, but to expect that work to get you where you want rather than a miracle (like winning the lottery).
