Fewer COVID-19 tests may result in fewer infections reported during Songkran – DDC

The steady fall in daily COVID-19 infections during the Songkran holidays can be deceptive and may not reflect the real situation, as fewer RT-PCR and rapid antigen tests were conducted during the period, according to Dr. Chakkarat Pittayawonganon, director of the Division of Epidemiology, Disease Control Department, yesterday (Tuesday).

Hair-like strands found in beverages from popular vending machine brand, operator cites device malfunction

A well-known vending machine brand in Thailand, Tao Bin, has come under scrutiny after some of its beverages were found to contain hair-like objects or strange fibers. The operator said on Tuesday the issue was due to device malfunction and that it has been resolved.

23-year-old taxi passenger dies following two-vehicle accident in Pattaya, taxi driver suffers only minor injuries

Pattaya – A 23-year-old sedan passenger was found dead outside the taxi she hired after the driver collided with a pickup truck in Banglamung yesterday morning (April 19th).

The snake catchers were called in Bang Saphan, Nakhon Sri Thammarat in southern Thailand after a family found a large number of cobra eggs and four nests under their house.

Current Public Debt to GDP Ratio Still Below Ceiling

BANGKOK (NNT) - Thailand’s public debt-to-GDP ratio stood at 60.17% as of February, with the figure expected to reach 62.7% by the end of fiscal 2022 - below the current ceiling of 70% of GDP. February GDP was 16.3 trillion baht.

Bangkok opens 15 venues for gubernatorial election campaign rallies

Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is opening 15 public venues, including parks and sport centres, for candidates running in the forthcoming Bangkok gubernatorial election to stage their election campaign rallies, said BMA Permanent Secretary Khachit Chatchavanich today (Wednesday).
