The ruling Palang Pracharath Party (PPRP) has more than one candidate for the prime minister position to prepare for all eventualities ahead of the next election, its leader said on Tuesday.

“We might have a backup,” said Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan while he was answering questions from reporters at government house.

The question was related to Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha’s premiership terms as the law stipulates that an individual can only serve as prime minister for eight years, no matter whether the four-year terms were served back-to-back or not.

There is written that Prawit will be running for PM.... I hope heaven prevents it... We need young people with a vision and fresh idea's who want to do reforms on all levels to make Thailand connect with the 21st century instead of keeping the rules of the 19 th century...There is a lot  really a lot of work to do, starting with registration of everyone in the place where he/she lives, instead of the blue booksregistrations. It is start to know who is living where and what they are doing, so that good aid can be given to everyone.. It would be the start of total new society, instead of all the paperwork now

as the law stipulates that an individual can only serve as prime minister for eight years, that's until there is a rule change which is very likely under the circumstances !

Prwait, no thank you. That guy should be in jail, if you know don't why, no problem, he knows.

Regardless of who is staging the theatre, it'll be the same circles running the production.

Knowing the bottom line of historic control and influence will aid in the understanding of how the machinery work here.

The rare monkeywrenching in the works might have it's moments occasionally, yet never really manifest nor permanent.

They see to that quite well.

.....and the continued innocence of many who really don't understand the deeper machinations at work here - or anywhere in the world, for that manner.

Prayuth is out of favour and is simply being replaced everything else to remain much the same.

Perhaps. Or is  he being  willingly prepared to accept and announce his withdrawal from a role that has sufficiently acquired the aims of his  sponsors in return for a final golden handshake?

The guy can hardly walk. He'll probably be dead within two years. No way he can be prime minister.

Jurassic Park 19 - the dinosaur has spoken!

Whatever.

Who are the other options?

(Don't come here peddling anutin or chidchob, please.)

The manner in which they ousted the previous government and took control required everyone bow to one man, an incompetent general. He is literally in charge of EVERYTHING (judiciary excluded, but the know they're bread is buttered with green butter) - he's the chairman of every single committee. And while in power, the regime has failed at every turn, including having a path forward.

That's the problem when you assume complete control, and are incompetent.

Clock shows it's ~ 20:00 ish
