Hi all,

I was wondering if it would be posible to get some advise from you! I am 26 and originally from the UK. I have been living in BKK now for a year and a half and had a work permit for just a few months. I am now considering opening a company over here (possibly internet cafes) and I was wondering how easy it is?

This may sound like a stupid question, but I know that Farrangs are not allowed to actually own land here, so I was wondering if that was the case with companies?

any advise would be very much appreciated!

As a farang you can't buy land,sure,but if you set up a thai company you can,but best to talk with a lawyer as there are many complications to be worked through.Also from a few friends farangs i know that have set up internet shops they have had many problems from other sometimes jealous internet shop owners,because of the farang owners shop doing better business.Just something to think about,good luck...

you'll be luck to make enough freight to pay the lawyers/accountants fees ,

and if you don't declare a taxable profit you'll have hassles renewing your WP which is the only reason for the company anyway ..........

I'm actually plannng to continue working but having the net cafe as more of an additional earner. I am also looking into other business opportunities here.

The accounting etc I can do but Im more concerned about the actual legal side of things, and the paper work it will take to get it all going . . . especially knowing the way the police work over here . . .I just dont want to end up being deported or stung for everypenny just because I missed something!

I anybody has any real life experience to share, please do!

... who's supposed to take care of daily net cafe business and other company affairs while you're taking care of your job and your dreams about ownership of Thai soil?

Get real, is the first requirement that must be met.
