INN reported on joint military exercises being carried out in the gulf of Thailand this week between the Thai and US navies.

It's called Carat 2022 and runs until Friday and is centered around Sattahip and Koh Samui.

Both land based and naval exercises will be carried out featuring P-8A Poseidon aircraft and ships called Naresuan, Bang Pakong and Kraburi of the Thai navy.

Divers will also take part in training.

Yesterday Admiral Phaisan Meesri of the Thai navy and Commander Brian Bangay (name transliterated from Thai and possibly incorrect) of the USS Jackson met at the navy base in Sattahip to discuss the exercises.

The exercises have been run since 1995, this being the 28th year.

Commander Bangay gave the opening address in front of a large sign saying "openning", notes ASEAN NOW.

Oh dear.

Hope Elon sends soon some electric motors for the newly acquired submarines "with no engines".

I also guess the "Scheinese"will keep an eye on the action.

Didn't they cancel shore leave for the sailors during these exercises?

Watch out Biden might be trying to selling them some solar panel subs.

Some of the hazing of recruits hard to swallow

Thais really should learn the art of proof reading before printing.. or maybe they thought that was the American spelling?

Sattahip to Samui? That's a long swim.

Still, what could possibly go wrong?

Now it's time to show up with that Carrier and the subs????

CUE Sensless stories  about marines in town despite them not coming on shore for years. Unfortunately

Another dog and pony show.  Maybe Admiral Phaisan Meesri can get a MOU with the US Navy to fix his broken aircraft carrier and a few other items.
