Clearly Harris teed Trump up to fail in this debate and he did spectacularly fail. Actually embarrassed himself on severl occasions. That won't change any MAGA minds. There are about 200,000 undecided voters in several crucial states, those are the only votes that matter now. She may have put North Carolina back in play as well, especially with a very tainted Republicn candidate running for Governor and down 10% at this stage. So, Dems and Reps can piss into the wind all they want but its those 200,000 (+/-) undecided voters who will elect the next President. Score one for Harris but this thing is tight. -

Firstly, whether Churchill made the correct "moral" decision largely depends on perspective. If you are jewish or British then of course yes, but if you are Japanese, German, then not really, because after the war 1.7 million Germans died in the ethnic cleansing of 14 million Germans, 900000 Japanese civilians were murdered in carpet bombings. This just depends on perspective. Indeed, it would have been a Nazi led Europe, but Britain would have retained her empire, and that would have been her only option to retain her empire. That's really what Churchill wanted. Had he been a more insightful politician he would have understood this, and that fighting Germany was precisely going to achieve the opposite of what he wanted, to save the Empire. -

This could have been £11.6bn less but would mean 11 less African billionaires but otherwise would have zero impact. Choices comrade, choices. They cannot complain about black holes when they give so much money taxpayers money away and they could have chosen not to kill thousands of pensioners this winter. -

IMO Harris is capable of growing into the position. She demonstrated that by slicing Trump to ribbons. Nobody thought much of LBJ when he took over after Kennedy's assassination. He became one of the most reforming Presidents in America's history. OTOH, Trump is rooted in the past. He can only regress.- 1

Really? Because the bigotry of the Nazis towards the Jews wasn't flagrantly apparent? Churchill was in Germany in 1932 doing some research on an ancestor of his. Someone offered to arrange for Churchill to meet Hitler. Churchill mentioned a few questions to ask Hitler in advance to prep for their meeting. I'll let Martin Gilbert take it from here... Yeah, thanks, I looked at the transcript, this was about Harris supporting Israel. She did not win that exchange. Everyone knows she supported Palestinians and her protestations about Israel did indeed look week. Trump retorted that Putin endorsed Harris. I don't see that as win for Harris. Any others? -
