Murder in south: Employee stabs boss after cash advance is denied

Thai Rath reported on a murder in Surat Thani in southern Thailand yesterday where a factory owner was stabbed through the heart by an employee after an argument over an advance on his wages.

 

Police lieutenant Phuwanat Noophinit of the Phuphin constabulary  responded after reports of a stabbing at a coffee grinding factory in Tha Chang sub-district.

 

Blood was found at the scene. The factory owner Thanaphon Rianthong, 31, from Phuket was stabbed in the left side with a knife that pierced his heart. He died on the way to hospital.

 

It was believed that the assailant - Suphawat "Beer" Nakrin, 28, an employee, had not gone far. The area was surrounded.

Beer was found hiding in the undergrowth 300 meters from the site of the stabbing. He had bloodstains and was in possession of the knife.

 

He told investigators that he habitually carried a knife. 

 

He had asked his boss for an advance on his wages but after this was denied and he was scolded an argument ensued.

 

He was detained and charged with murder.
