The Personal Data Protection Act’ becomes law today, this will affect the use of personal information including photography used online.

 

Consent is now required, before it can be used.

 

Under the new law, people can post pictures and video clips of themselves with others for personal use online, without the intention of commercial gain or causing damage. Few people are aware of the full details of the new law.

 

Places of Entertainment  such as pubs, bars and nightclubs will officially reopen in 31 provinces, including Bangkok today, following severe covid restrictions,  

Hours of operation will be extended until midnight.

 

However the government blocked a proposal to allow people offering services to remove face masks, 

A move heavily criticized by many entertainment venues.  


A British national has been convicted of the murder of a sex worker in 2014 by a court in kanchanaburi. 

Shane Looker  was sentenced to 16 years reduced to eight years due to his confession, the woman's dismembered corpse was found in a suitcase filled with stones then dumped into the Mae Klong River.  Looker had spent some time in Hua Hin before going to malaysia, then to Europe, he was extradited to Thailand last year.

 

Six Taiwanese men have been arrested suspected of  duping more than 500 people, mostly Chinese and Taiwanese nationals, into investing in fraudulent cryptocurrency schemes using Chinese bank accounts..  Notebook computers and mobile phones were seized, those arrested facelgal proceedings and deportation.

 

An idea to promote three popular tourist islands, Koh Samui, Koh Tao and Koh Phangan  has received a positive response from tour operators,the idea would be to build an entertainment cluster among the islands and promote the whole group. It’s hoped government and private businesses will support the area.
