Daily News Thai Caption Strict (rules) on second day of opening

Thai Rath reported that the deputy of the Royal Thai Police Pol Gen Damrongsak Kittipraphat and a host of other RTP top brass and Lumpini and Thong Lo police along with the deputy governor of Bangkok Sanon Wangsangbun and other officials descended on the Nana (Sukhumvit Soi 4) and Ekkamai  (Soi 63) entertainment areas last night - the second day of reopening.

Daily News reported that compliance with the rules was good. They showed pictures of a bar lady showing what was being done.

Thai Rath said that just ONE place in Nana and ONE in Ekkamai was checked.

ASEAN NOW notes that this is more about PR and looking to be doing the right thing rather than mounting any kind of raid.

Nevertheless Damrongsak was keen to ensure all the protocols for Thai Stop Covid 2Plus and Covid Free Setting were being followed to the letter.

This includes strict 12 pm closing, stopping overcrowding, having ATK tests and vaccination for staff and making sure that customers have been vaxxed.

Sanon said that the areas that were checked were frequented mainly by foreigners and that at Nana ATK tests were available. He wanted people to use the Thai Save Thai app and be responsible in getting the entertainment sector going again.

His mantra was to be "flexible but not lax".

Tourism authority should add some pictures like that to their campaign.

Photo Op.. how else will they justify their positions and the huge gains they're getting out

of those places?.. Nothing really changed, seen this so many times...

They wanted to experience services first hand as they wanted to ensure that every foreigner visiting left happy N fullfilled.....

That's some service and dedication!!

Typical organised crime show of force before a shake down.

If they spent less time taking photos of each other and more time policing, things might get done.

Yes right!  Deputy Governor with new Governor before he gets to office making sure everyone knows nothing had change the envelope still need to be delivered proto on the 1st????

With the hopeful return/increase of tourists and the legal opening of entertainment areas the police big chiefs were no doubt out on a fact finding mission and pushing their own personal agenda for climate change aversion by advising all of the managers/owners of the entertainment areas and hiso/government knocking shops in that area, that from now on he and his minions look forward to receiving increases in the contents of all brown envelopes (to reflect the increase in trade) and the donators must ensure that said brown envelopes are made from recyclable materials ????

Reminds me of the BS publicity stunt by the BIB in Pattaya a few years back  proclaiming see no prostitution here as they walked through the streets.  What a joke! 555
