Poll – Majority agree with no face masks outdoors, 2am closure of nightspots

More than 65% of the respondents to an opinion poll, conducted by Thailand’s National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA), said they agree with the proposals to ease the outdoor mask wearing mandate and extend the closing time for nightlife venues to 2 am, instead of midnight.

Rush to register cannabis and hemp cultivation overwhelms system

More than 100,000 people rushed to register to grow cannabis and hemp plants, through the Thai Food and Drug Administration’s (TFDA) website https://plookganja.fda.moph.go.th, and the “plookganja” application this morning (Thursday), as the removal of the two plants from the Category 5 narcotics list becomes effective. The stampede overwhelmed the capacity of the original site.

Thai opposition to target ten ministers, including PM, in censure debate

The opposition parties are aiming to censure Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha and nine of his ministers, claiming that they have solid evidence to unseat some of them with allegations of corruption, opposition chief whip and Pheu Thai MP Suthin Klangsaeng said today (Thursday).

Tourism Ministry to Delay Tourism Fee Until the End of This Year

BANGKOK (NNT) - The Ministry of Tourism and Sports has announced that it will postpone the collection of the 300-baht tourism fee until the fourth quarter of this year and will propose the cancellation of the Thailand Pass starting next month.

Nationwide Air Quality Sensors to Support Proactive Solutions

BANGKOK, June 9 (TNA) – The Energy Ministry and the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) activated the “Sensor for All” network of air quality sensors at about 1,200 locations nationwide to check air quality in real time and support proactive solutions to air pollution.

Deputy Education Minister found at fault for encroachment in national park

Deputy Education Minister Kanokwan Vilawan has been found to be at fault, by Thailand’s National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), for land encroachment in Khao Yai National Park and has been instructed to report to public prosecutors to acknowledge the charges against her or face arrest.
