Boxing - South African boxer Simiso Buthelezi has tragically passed away.  Buthelezi who was 24, fought for the WBF African lightweight title fight against Siphesihle Mntungwa last weekend, but he lost the fight and went into a coma on Tuesday night. Boxing South Africa confirmed yesterday that the fighter had passed away.

 

Football -  In last night's Nations League matches Belgium hammered Poland 6-1, The Netherlands beat Wales 2-1, Scotland beat Armenia 2-0 and Ukraine won 1-0 against the R.O.I.  Liverpool have rejected a deal worth 40m euros for Senegal forward Sadio Mane from Bayern Munich. The Reds are understood to want about 50m euros for the 30-year-old.

 

American Football - The Denver Broncos appear set to be sold for a sports-franchise record $4.65 billion, according to multiple media reports. As expected, the Walton-Penner family -- led by Walmart heir Rob Walton -- has made the winning bid.

 

The Walton-Penner family and the Pat Bowlen Trust have entered into a purchase and sale agreement, it was jointly announced yesterday. This would be the highest price paid for an American sports franchise, topping the $3.2 billion paid for the NBA's Brooklyn Nets in 2019.
