Visa run Chiang Khong

Is there anyone who can confirm that it's possible to walk in to Lao and back the same day at the bridge in Chiang Khong ? 

 

Of course one have to have a Lao Visa and the Thailand Pass.

The crossing is open but I have not seen any reports of anybody doing a border hop there.

The Lao visa on arrival is available for entry.

I might go there and try next month. 

Things hopefully are easier also then.

Pre Covid the Thai Mrs. and I did exactly this in and out same day ( @ Chiang Khong )

 

We drove and parked at the Border Point.

 

Got on a 'border bus across the bridge'

 

Picked up a Tuk Tuk for the day who drove us around, lunch at restaurant above the water.

 

Great adventure to do once.

 

Chiang Khong is my fave place of all - hotels on the waterfront.
