Popular Post webfact
by Krajangwit Johjit BANGKOK (NNT) - A budget of more than 100 million baht will be proposed by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) to the Center for Economic Situation Administration for approval in order to help revitalize Thailand’s tourism industry. According to TAT governor Yuthasak Supasorn, the proposed budget for fiscal 2023 aims to attract at least 10 million tourists, bringing the figure closer to TAT’s 2022 target. TAT’s target for this year is 7-10 million international tourists, which will be doubled to 20 million in 2023, and 25-30 million tourists with a total revenue of 3 trillion baht in 2024. The TAT will work with airline operators to increase load factors for all flights and will launch marketing campaigns to attract more operators and their customers. The agency expected to reach agreements with airlines by August to increase international flights to Thailand. The TAT governor also mentioned the possibility of inviting local businesses to participate in international trade shows and roadshows in order to attract more tourists from destinations such as the Middle East, Indonesia, and India. -- © Copyright NNT 2022-06-11 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. ezzra
How do you 'Revitalise' tourism i wonder? what ever was said in the article doesn't really cost money giving orders to various agencies to increase their activities, you can do however offer free or reduced price hotel stays, excursions and food promotions and festivals, and oh yeah, allow to open all the bars and places of entertainments... Popular Post Excel
And the 30% of the 100 million budget that will be syphoned off for the benefit of those day dreamers in TAT will be appreciated greatly no doubt. Such a shame that they don't just lift all restrictions, that will cost no money yet allow tourism to hopefully and eventually return to normal, and instead use that 100 million to support those in utter poverty here thanks to the government's and others deliberate measures to return Thailand to the dark ages.

How about putting an end to all the needless entry restrictions, wearing of masks when in the open air and publicizing the end of dual pricing for foreigners, which would not cost the country anything .....................

By August ? And you think they are going to suddenly turn on the flight spout to make that 10 millions tourists for you ? Pure delusion.

And give a free health insurance policy with every incoming air ticket. That won't happen because those 'connected' are milking the system.
Stargeezr
Good luck TAT, maybe wait until near High Season, and you may do a bit of good. It is low season now, do you not know that?
daveAustin
Here’s how you revitalise tourism: drop convoluted passes, stop puerile mask wearing, get rid of oppressive military juntas. It won’t cost a penny and they’ll flood in… … then get stuck at the airport ????

Anybody who does not come because of a little enforced rule of mask wearing in Malls must be soft in the head!

kevc
Bin the visas give everyone a 30 day on arrival, must be lots of people locally would come on the spur of the moment for a weekend away if it wasn't for all the visa fuss. Sort out all the touts, taxis and tour scams make people feel relaxed and keep your 100 million baht.
