Transfering Emails From Outlook Express To Outlook

Featured Replies

I recently bought a new desktop PC (vista, with Outlook) to replace our failing laptop (XP, with outlook express).

I want to transfer the emails that sit on my laptops version of outlook express, to the PC version of outlook.

I've networked both computers to transfer the files, but I am at a loss to how to find where outlook express has saved my local inbox. I can find the link: Documents and Settings\Samran\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{8C0AAA3-774-46FC-B50-FD42D8B85D}\Microsoft\Outlook Express\Inbox.dbx

But when I get to my 'samran' level directory, there doesn't appear to be an 'application data' sub directory and searching for it doesn't help. How to I get it to come back up so I can get Outlook to import the files.

Cheers

Export the messages on the old PC into outlook first.

Open Outlook Express -> File -> Export -> Mail messages.

Then copy across the *.pst file from old computer to new.
