snoop1130
The Thai Government has resolved to lift nationwide COVID-19 restrictions in accordance with the country’s plan to downgrade COVID-19 to endemic status in July. The announcement, published in the Royal Gazette on June 23, 2022, and effective immediately, removed the color-coded zoning, reclassifying Bangkok and the other 76 provinces as green zones. The public is advised to wear a face mask in crowded places, such as public transportation, markets, and concert venues, as well as for individuals with certain health conditions. Restaurants and eateries may serve alcoholic beverages to dine-in customers in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and communicable disease control guidelines. Pubs, bars, and karaoke lounges that have been certified with the Thai Stop COVID 2 Plus by the Ministry of Public Health are also permitted to operate in accordance with the applicable laws, regulations, and communicable disease control guidelines. In densely populated areas, group gatherings are permitted, but those with more than 2,000 participants must obtain permission in advance from respective authorities in Bangkok or the other 76 provinces. Popular Post spidermike007
The mask thing here is so far over the top, and many of us non lemming types know exactly what that is all about. Outdoor masking has very little to do with health, prevention or public safety. It has infinitely more to do with Cha Cha's job security. Keep the people scared. So, no more masks for us. Not outdoors, unless in a very crowded area. And never again on a motorbike. It does not get more ridiculous than that. Good riddens. Popular Post bkk6060
I believe Thailand is one of the last SEA countries to lift these mandates. They have definitely proven to the world how much they care about the welfare and health of residents, and visitors who come here.
Popular Post RandiRona
Let’s see how that goes, I think most important decision was abolishment of Thai Pass for Tourism. I doubt anyone care if people still wearing masks. Forcing others to wear in this hot and humid is/was torture. btw emergency decree was extended and no one give a shat tell us everything we need to know about how much common Thai care after years of conditioning.

Even if the Thai mentality might be different at least Western countries' example shows that after the mask mandates are dropped mask wearers become a small minority in a few weeks at most. It just doesn't happen overnight but gradually, though quite quickly.
IamNoone88
Central are still enforcing the mask mandate. They need to wake up. Ridiculous.

In Pattaya they have not opened yet, and the announcement was only last night. Up to them, but I am guessing it will take several days for the situation to become clear. Some shops may feel it is necessary to protect their staff.

When I go to dinner or bar in Loi Kroh, Chiang Mai I park in a private open air carpark. The owner always put his mask on as he comes to collect payment. Last night he did the same. I said you don't have to wear anymore. He just said he will. As they say here "up to you"
Zozod
I’m ok with or without a mask. It’s interesting how some get so bent out of shape whether asked to wear one or not. I’m glad I’m not one of them.
