F1 - Ferrari's Carlos Sainz took his first Formula 1 victory at the end of an extraordinary British Grand Prix packed full of incident and drama.The Spaniard benefited from questionable strategy calls from Ferrari, which cost his team-mate Charles Leclerc the win and a chance to revive his title hopes. 

 

Second was Red Bull's Sergio Perez and third was Lewis Hamilton. Leclerc could finish only fourth and championship leader Max Verstappen finished seventh Verstappen leads Perez in the championship by 34 points, with Leclerc a further nine adrift.

 

Tennis  - Defending champion Novak Djokovic continued his pursuit of a seventh Wimbledon title as he reached the quarter-finals with a four-set win over Dutch wildcard Tim van Rijthoven 6-2 4-6 6-1 6-2.

 

Cricket - India remain in a dominant position in the fifth Test against England despite another superb century from Jonny Bairstow on day three at Edgbaston Birmingham UK. Bairstow's 106 - his third hundred in as many Tests and his fifth this year - got the home side to 284 from their overnight 84-5. India lead by 257 runs.
