A Pune resident was arrested on Thursday after officials at Mumbai International Airport's immigration counter found some pages missing from his passport.

The Times of India reported that Samdarshi Yadav, a 32-year-old resident of Pune, was stopped from boarding a flight to the Maldives after officials found he had destroyed some pages from his passport to hide his travel history from his wife.

Yadav ripped out and destroyed at least 10 pages from his passport in 2019 before getting married to his wife. He reportedly did this in order to hide his travel history of flying to Thailand.

My thoughts exactly. Report it lost, get a new one from the Embassy or Consulate. Man created himself a truly avoidable pain in his rectum....

I believe India does not have an embassy or consulate in India where this man could have obtained a new passport.

OK, here it comes, can't have a thread about an Indian tourist without it.

Then the wife says "and what has become of your gold chain?"

I guess losing a gold chain is not one of his trouble no more.

'High class' does not always translate into 'high intelligence '

Why would he need to hide his exotic trips to ancient temples and shrines from his wife? Wouldn't she have understood his desire to see the hilltribes, temples, clean beaches and, well, temples?

And he says, it's in my bag, but I'm waiting for insurance claim....

LOL the things men do to try to be safe.  wife is a good indian wife and whne he tells her he is going to mumbai for business she assumes that he is.

Same good Indian wife though will have family and brothers adjust his jewels so that trips to anywhere would not bring happy ending. no matter how good the masseuse was or is.

"...or loose it..." [sic]

According to the link that is what happened, his lawyer said that the pages came out because they were loose.

"...why he didn't just throw it into a washing machine..."

They're Indian, what do you think the chances are of his wife not being the only one to do the laundry?!

I have a colleague in the UK who makes annual business trips to Australia. His wife forbids him from stopping over in Bangkok. Ask people in the street what the first things are that come to mind when Thailand is mentioned, and I'm sure that most would say ladyboys and prostitutes.

Yes.....He got married!

Could have tried the line he was testing LOS as a possible wedding location or honeymoon destination. The Thailand reputation is obviously far and wide.

Am I allowed to suggest short arms and deep pockets?

Wonder why I never thought of it?
