I was told by a Thai friend it is possible to register a divorce (by mutual consent) without both parties attending the filing at the same district office at the same time - for example one party files their documents at one district office, then the other files theirs at another office (or both file at the same office but at different times).

 

Is this possible and if so what is the exact procedure? In the case in question both hasband and wife are Thai citizens (if this matters).

Wouldn’t it be easier for you and your Thai friend to go to your local District Office and find out the correct procedure.

As we know procedures can vary from office to office.
