All 19 ‘high risk’ people in Phuket cleared of monkeypox infection

All 19 “high risk” people, who in close contact with the Nigerian man, who is Thailand’s first and so far only confirmed monkeypox case, tested negative for the virus, said Phuket provincial health chief Dr. Kusak Kukiattikoon today (Monday), as he advised people not to panic.

Japanese remain the cornerstone investors in Thailand during H1 2022 with 26 bln in investments

Japanese were once again the biggest investor in Thailand during the first half of 2022, bringing in more than 26-billion-baht worth of investments out of the total of nearly 65 billion baht, the Ministry of Commerce said on Monday.

Monkeypox ‘A Mild Disease That Is Difficult To Control’

A PROMINENT virologist said in a Facebook post today (July 25) that Monkeypox is a mild disease with mortality rate likely to be less than 3 in 10,000, especially among the most vulnerable, but difficult to control, INN News said.

Zipmex ordered to resume trading, withdrawals, following worrying freeze

Thailand’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has ordered Zipmex, Thailand’s second largest cryptocurrency exchange after Bitkub, to resume trading and digital asset withdrawals within three days after an official announcement is issued, following the company’s freezing of digital assets and withdrawals last week, prompting complaints by concerned investors who stand to lose a total of up to 300 million baht.

Nigerian may have been infected with monkeypox in Thailand – senior doctor

The Nigerian man, who was confirmed to be Thailand’s first and so far only monkeypox case, may have contracted the virus in the country, said Dr. Wasun Chantratita, chief of the Centre for Medical Genomics at Ramathibodi Hospital.
