On a journey to ties that bind. Indonesian bikers arrive in Cambodia

Featured Replies

On Sunday, 17 Indonesian big bikers entered the Kingdom through Poipet after riding through Malaysia and Thailand. The riders, members of the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) arrived in Siem Reap and they were not just on a joy ride but also out on a mission to promote Indonesian made automotive products.

On hand to welcome the riders in Poipet were Indonesian Ambassador Sudirman Haseng, staff members of the Indonesian Embassy and Cambodian officials led by Sok Chenda Sophea, the Minister attached to the Prime Minister and secretary-general of the Council for the Development of Cambodia. The group then took to the road for Siem Reap, the heart of the largest empire of its time – the Khmer Empire – 150km away.

According to a press release by IMI, the road tour in Cambodia was part of the ongoing Second Wonderful Indonesia Motorbike Touring 2022 that will take the riders on a journey through Southeast Asian countries described as “touring diplomacy through automotive”. “The IMI tour is aimed at promoting tourism and the use of Indonesian SMEs automotive products to the world, including Cambodia.”
