BANGKOK, Aug 2 (TNA) – The country has seen cases of rebounding COVID-19 and health authorities thus warn people not to buy antivirals for their own use, according to the director-general of the Department of Medical Services.

Dr Somsak Akksilp, the director-general, said that over the past two weeks the country confirmed COVID-19 symptoms rebounded with two Thai patients. Earlier, United States President Joe Biden suffered rebounding COVID-19 after taking antiviral Paxlovid, he said.

No they are definitely not saying that!  The point of antiviral treatment is to prevent vulnerable people being hospitalised with severe symptoms, and it has been shown to achieve this effectively.

They are saying that in a small number of patients  (1-2%) treated with the antivirals to the point where symptoms and antigen tests are negative, the symptoms and antigen tests return to positive a few days later.

The reasons are being actively researched but have not been found to be due to development of drug resistance or new infection. The most likely hypothesis is that the virus has not been exposed to a high enough concentration of the drug for long enough to  completely inhibit all replication of the virus. This could be due to some people metabolising and so eliminating the drug faster than others.

If this is the case, a higher dose administered for longer could resolve the problem.

Worked for Biden, it'd seem. Two shots, two boosters, caught covid, took Paxlovid, recaught covid.  Those Chinese know how to 'enhancement of function', it'd seen.

Include weasel words for computer crimes act.

Covid “vaccine “ is Kinda same as the flu shot. If you want to get it, get it, but don’t believe that you won’t get it. Strains change and so does your bodies immunity response.

I think they may be confusing return with re-infected.

Unless they mean, people self medicating, aren't properly completing treatment regiments, and symptoms simple return since not cured in the first place.

Those sick, asymptomatic simply are irresponsible and back walking amongst the vulnerable, who shouldn't be out among them anyway ????

woah a whole 1 to 2 percent.

lock down the world NOW and wear masks forever and ever.
