Further towards 2nd Rd is Melodies Bar. Read online reviews for the hotel. The only possible problem with any of the hotels near Beach Road is the noise from bands or bars. If that bothers you, ask for a quiet room. No way to be compared with Soi 7/8 or so (which are also half dead, slowly awaking). Never noticed, not even the name. Looks fancy/stylish/modern. Beach view room is a must. That looks like a very good price for a very good hotel. I would go for it if I were you. 2 minute walk to Beach Road you can get a Baht bus to Central Festival Mall or Walking St or Sois 6, 7 & 8. Loads of decent restaurants in easy reach too. Motorcycle taxis at the end of the Soi can take you further afield: Soi Buakaow for example for about 60 Baht.
