Malaysian ambassador discusses medical cannabis with Thailand’s health minister

BANGKOK (NNT) - Thai authorities are now discussing the matter of medical cannabis with their Malaysian counterparts. The latter have become engaged in legal efforts to enable the medical use of cannabis. Minister of Public Health Anutin Charnvirakul is now looking to welcome his Malaysian counterpart to Thailand for a discussion on the matter.

NESDC revises 2022 GDP growth forecast to 2.7 - 3.2% range

BANGKOK (NNT) - Although Thailand’s economy remains on a clear recovery track, the Office of the National Economic and Social Development Council (NESDC) has revised its GDP forecast. The growth range revision from 2.5-3.5% to the 2.7-3.2% range came in response to the Russia-Ukraine conflict and policy rate increases by central banks.

Households, businesses to pay more for electricity from September as FT rate raised

Thailand’s Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) has decided to raise the FT (fuel tariff) for electricity for September through December by 68.66 satang per unit, which will bring the average rate for electricity to 4.72 baht per unit, to help ease the financial burden on the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT).
