A couple were stabbed to death at a shopping mall in Thailand’s Pathum Thani province last Saturday, following a heated argument and a brawl with the owner of a beauty salon, according to the Facebook page of the Ruamkatanyu Volunteer Association.

The couple and their 5-year-old child arrived at the mall and the mother went into a beauty salon, while her husband and their child went shopping.

The woman later left the salon, only to return shortly after with her husband.

Salon owner surrendered to Pathum Thani police after allegedly stabbing couple to death over bad haircut quarrel
By Nop Meechukhun

Pathum Thani – A salon owner, 50, has turned himself in to Pak Khlong Rangsit District Police Station after reportedly stabbing an extra actress and her husband to death at a salon located in Tesco Lotus Department Store in Pathum Thani on Saturday, August 20th.

Local police arrived at the department store after being alerted to the attack on Saturday. There, two bodies of the Thai couple were found – whose names were revealed as Nok,41, and Pop, 40.

According to local witnesses, the couple came to get their hair done at the salon but the hairdresser could not make the hairstyle as they needed. So, both parties agreed to revisit later for the correction but the couple was still not satisfied with the hairstyle. Therefore, they came back again on Saturday with their 8-year-old daughter to negotiate with the shop owner.

However, the negotiation reportedly turned into a quarrel as the customers allegedly claimed that they would sue the shop. The owner, who was later identified as Lek, reportedly grabbed a knife and stabbed the woman before turning to attack her husband.

Done it in front of their kid ? <deleted> !

Why would a beauty salon have a knife capable of killing 2 people laying around ? If it was a small knife for opening boxes etc then the guy must have went nuts to stab both to death with it !

Wasn't it a he .

"

Later on the same day, Lek surrendered himself to the police and told the officials that the deceased came to get her hair done at the salon but there was a little problem, which he was not yet ready to provide more information at the moment. He also brought the weapon to the police station.

Initially, he was charged with murder and carrying a weapon in the public. He was under police custody for further legal proceedings."

many onlookers have decided against using the salon in future as it's just too risky.

What is wrong with these people ?

They seem to be full of hate and rage .

Better they do some meditation about what life is about before they go to work .

Now 2 are dead , the owner ( male or female ? ruined his / her life )

About what ?

Thais in general seem to have a problem controlling themselves in situations that require to better stay calm .

The land of smiles ? My ass ... , it's a dangerous country full of people that never reach the level of self control that is required to live in a community  ...

I think it's fair to say that IN GENERAL Thais are much calmer than us westerners, and we can get angry more quickly. My wife is forever wanting me to calm down and deal with things in the local way.

However, I feel that westerners' ability to get angry quickly enables them to calm down quickly as well. When some Thais lose it, they really lose it and this incident is just one of many examples we read here and in the news.

I feel so sorry for the poor child, because regardless of whoever will raise her from now on, and how well she's raised, she will still have that awful memory of this terrible event.

The salon owner deserves all that's coming to him, and more.

Well not exactly about which culture is calmer, which get angry faster, which calms down faster.

It is about a culture that creates people who can kill others over something very benign in nature.

Perhaps starting with getting rid of 'Wais' , particularly for children, as it may very well prevent them from expressing feelings, so preventing them from learning on how to deal with feelings in their youth. Combined with getting rid of the 'Kha' and 'Khap', which also hide any other feeling from being expressed.

But changing a culture, one hell of a task....

Of right, so let's make them like American culture shall we.....and get ready for mass school shootings, hight gun crime, and highest mental health problems in the world...

Yet another example of how cheap life is here. Dare to complain about a haircut and be stabbed to death.

By the way, I've seen three different reports on this, with the child said to be 5, 7 and 8. More great Thai reporting.

Hair grows back... chill-out.

Not worth dying for.

It would be enough to make one's hair stand on end and curl  just to walk past.

Dear me, just finished another thread about a stabbing in Bangkok, place will have a reputation to rival London at this rate.

If he becomes prison barber, and if anyone criticizes him . . .

They grow up fast these days.

Cant even get a hair cut without the barber wondering if they will be stabbed and people say free use of weed wont have any effect. Really?

"...they came back again on Saturday with their 8-year-old daughter to negotiate with the shop owner."

There is the flaw: never have an 8 year old do the negotiating, even if it is the daughter and not the spoiled son.

Correct.

On top she would never get a job in the future since most require a NO CRIME RECORD certificate.

Who would hire a Convicted Felon?
