Broker in Thailand that allows holding of Russian stocks

Featured Replies

Hello, I am not a citizen of any country that is participating in the sanctions against Russia. I owned some Russian stocks through a US based broker. They can no longer allow the trading of Russian stocks so I need to move those holdings to a broker that accepts Russian stocks.

Can you recommend some Thai brokers? If not, maybe Singapore or Hong Kong?

Did you own Russian stocks or ADR's of Russian stocks?

Hi, I own one Russian stock and one ADR of a Russian stock. I'm not sure what the difference is.

ADR's are American Depository Receipts, and Russian ADR's are all cancelled.

They will eventually be exchanged for the underlying Russian stock of that ADR, but that may take several months.

Russian stocks only can be sold, not bought.

Ok, but there are countries that have not boycotted Russian stocks, right? As far as I know Thailand has not participated in the boycotts.
Schwab told me that I can transfer the stocks to a broker who hasn't been forced to stop trading Russian securities.

Im wondering if sanctioned stocks can be transferred to a broker in Thailand?

If so could anyone recommend a Thai broker?
