A statement from the government says Prime minister Prayut will continue to work as minister of defense following the constitutional court's decision to suspend him from prime ministerial duties.


The court will now decide whether his eight year limit in office has been reached, a process that is likely to take several weeks.


Meanwhile the THE PHEU THAI- LED opposition urged Prayut to step down, they also suggested he give up his post as defense minister.

 

Police are hunting six suspected drug traffickers  who shot and wounded a police officer while fleeing arrest in Khon Kaen. 


The group fled as police went into arrest them at a hotel, one drove off in a Toyota, police tried to block it’s escape when a shot was fired injuring one officer in the leg. 


The car was found later, witnesses said one of the men stole his motorcycle at gunpoint.


A further charge of Assault has been filed against a female police corporal for allegedly physically abusing her maid who was a former female soldier. the victim say the latest incident took place between the 4th and 10th of august in Cha Am. 


Thailand's minister of culture says his department is trying to bring back 3 ancient Thai statues on display in a museum in Colorado United States,  

 

The buddha statues are believed to date back as far as the 6th century. It’s  believed the statues were taken out of Thailand in the 1960s.
