Manhunt continues for drug dealer who shot and injured police sergeant in Khon Kaen

Daily News Thai Caption: Hunt for gunman who shot at police 

 

Daily News reported on the continued manhunt for a drug dealer called Anon or Pao Ornsakhon, 27, and four associates.

 

This followed the serving of an arrest warrant for conspiracy to deal drugs, issued by the Kalasin court, on Tuesday at a Muang district hotel.

 

Pol Sen Sgt Maj Suwit Suksai of the ATPD (human trafficking police) was shot during the serving of the warrant.

 

He is in a serious condition in Srinakharin Hospital following the incident at 11.30 am Tuesday.

 

In latest developments in the hunt Khon Kaen provincial police chief Pol Maj-Gen Noppakao Somnat said that despite spreading out in a wide search the suspects had gone to ground.

But a Toyota Fortuner with a red plate with the number ร-9999 (Bangkok) had been found abandoned with a front left tire burst. 

 

This had been used as the gang fled and was taken into evidence. 

 

Local forces including the ATPD, Tourist Police and Crime Suppression Division - in total seven agencies - were involved in the manhunt.

 

One man who it is believed helped the gang flee is in custody.

 

All are know to police and still believed to be in the Khon Kaen area, NE Thailand.
